In
2003, the principal of the South River School in Marshfield and
the principal of the Senmaya Elementary School in Iwate, Japan
exchanged formal letters of introduction. They wrote to each
other about their goals for their students and expressed enthusiasm
about the ideas behind this project. Likewise, both of the
Superintendents of each district exchanged letters and information.
These very fine drawings and beautiful
calligraphy samples were sent as a gift to the principal of the South
River School at that time.
